The various deck pieces have very prominent circular indentations, obviously not part of the ship but, presumably, something on the patterns, which are nearly 60 years old. They would be quite noticeable, so before proceeding further these were filled with two part epoxy filler (Milliput) as can be seen in the example shown here.
