COLLETT 8750 CLASS
Frames For more information about this picture click here
Here you can see the new frames for the Pannier tank at an early stage of erection. 3693, seen behind the frames, has been lifted from the original Mainline "OO" chassis for the new frames to be fettled to fit. These have been built wider to accommodate the scale gauge and more accurate P4 wheels. The "legs" are the guard irons; these will subsequently be bent to shape to align with the wheels when fitted. The original Mainline body was modified some years ago by replacing the 57XX style cab with the larger 8750 style, using whitemetal castings from Alan Gibson.
